I am currently in my final year of a Bachelor of Creative Arts, majoring in Screen Arts at Curtin University, where I have developed my critical, creative and practical skills across a range of screen based media. I am due to graduate in December 2026.

Throughout my degree, I’ve consistently engaged with course material, participated in practical projects and sought feedback to improve my work. A large part of my experience at university has been learning through collaboration. I’ve worked with a variety of people across different productions, learning how to communicate ideas, take on different roles and adapt when things don’t go according to plan. Through these projects, I’ve developed practical skills in editing, writing, sound and directing, while also gaining a better understanding of how these different areas work together to create a finished piece.

In 2026, I led Sound Design for the short film Swallowing Soap. I oversaw all sound recording on set, created the sound mix during post-production and developed an original score for the film. Taking responsibility for the entire sound process gave me the opportunity to understand how sound functions across a production, from the practical challenges of recording on set to the creative decisions made in post. It also taught me how important preparation, communication and time management are when working as part of a larger production. Working within deadlines while balancing the technical and creative sides of the role has been one of the most valuable experiences of my degree.

Outside of university, I have continued developing my creative practice through music, filmmaking and collaboration with other artists. I see these practices as closely connected, with the skills I’ve developed in one area constantly influencing the way I approach another. I’m particularly interested in finding ways to combine music and screen work rather than treating them as separate creative fields.

My plan for 2027 is to release my debut album, My Prettiest Star, alongside an eponymous short film made up of a series of music videos that I will direct. The project will allow me to bring together the skills I’ve developed throughout my degree, while continuing to learn through collaboration with other musicians, filmmakers and creatives. Ultimately, I want to keep making work that gives me the opportunity to work with people, experiment across different mediums and continue developing my own creative voice.
